ChatGPT is here, and has been for quite a while. With the ongoing panic on its limitlessness and possible takeover of knowledge based jobs, it is easy to lose sight of what can be gained from its use.
Research is the bedrock of all knowledge based jobs, and the database of ChatGPT is so vast that i can retrieve and cover information on any open topic in the world.
Bearing this in mind, I decided to know what information ChatGPT had about Crater Library & Publishers. To me, it is the perfect way to find out how we present on the internet and learn how visible our work is to the world.
I began with a simple request ‘Tell me about Crater Library & Publishers’ and it responded with this.

Disappointed, I tried again but with more specific information ‘Tell me about crater library & publishers in Enugu, Nigeria’, and I got this concoction of information.

The last response from ChatGPT left me confused because I believe there is a handful of information on Crater Library on the internet. It got the founder and its year of establishment wrong. The rest? A cocktail of on-point and irrelevant information mixed well enough to look good to someone unfamiliar with Crater’s work.
Lessons:
- Don’t trust an AI to do your research work. Always verify!
- Crater needs to increase its digital footprints and visibility online.
